Telephone Manager Initialization Functions

Configuring a Telephone Tool with the Standard Interface

This section and the following two sections describe the functions used to select and configure a telephone tool. The configuration of a telephone tool is generally left to the user, who selects the appropriate tool and specifies the desired settings through a tool-settings dialog box. You can use a standard tool-settings dialog box for this purpose, or you can design your own custom tool-settings interface. You can also perform the selection and configuration without user intervention through a scripting language.

The Telephone Manager provides a standard user interface that allows a user to choose the appropriate telephone tool and select the desired settings. During the configuration process, the Telephone Manager automatically creates a new telephone record (using the TELNewWithResult function). It then fills in the configuration details using TELDefault and checks that all the fields contain valid entries by calling TELValidate.
